Last weekend found Virginia legislators passing many of their leftist policies, one after another in a
marathon 2-day session.

Fast-tracking their votes before the 6 pm deadline on Sunday, the leftist Democrats were only able to
spend about seven minutes per bill so some of their socialist policies died without getting a vote.
Poor things. But never fear, they got a lot of things done.

Policies that went through included a $12/hr. minimum wage with the potential to go to $15/hr. That will
end up being a real winner for Virginia businesses. Wonder how many workers will lose their jobs from
that move?

Marijuana decriminalization was also on their list of accomplishments. The strategy for Democrats is that
when you have too many arrests for things, you need to decriminalize those crimes. Makes sense, right?

In order to prevent jail time for low level offenders, crimes that used to result in high fines and jail will now
be a $25 civil fine.

In an effort to help other lawbreakers, Virginia criminal enablers ended up passing a bill so that Virginians
will no longer have their driver’s licenses suspended for unpaid court fines. They also raised the threshold
for facing felony theft charges from $500 to $1000 – so steal away up to $999.99 and you only get a
misdemeanor. Fun times!

Do you support individual military members being able to opt out of getting the COVID vaccine?

The Dems also got legislation passed that keeps 14- and 15-year olds from being charged as adults for
more than a dozen crimes. Sounds like there will be even more crimes committed by teenagers now
because they don’t have to worry too much about the law. Good luck, everyone.

The leftists also approved a proposal so that students no longer face criminal disorderly conduct charges
for acting up in school. No more worries about a misdemeanor so act up all you want kids.

And in an effort to help out criminals even more, the House Courts of Justice Committee carried over
several proposals for more study. These proposals would limit how long offenders can be placed on
probation and allow some criminal charges to be expunged. Poor criminals. They have such a rough life.
They need some help.

The Democrat criminal enablers are on the march in Virgina – and everywhere really. They don’t want
anyone to have any consequences for bad behavior. Most of the time they don’t even want to define it as
bad behavior. This results in more criminals on the streets and law abiding people not being safe.

Virginia legislators also moved ahead with their gun control legislation including background checks on all
gun sales and a rule where only one handgun per month can be purchased.

Pushing through with their partisan plans, the leftists also made sure that cities and counties in Virginia
can remove the confederate statues that they own or maintain.

Some other bills that passed included driver privilege cards for illegal aliens; making Virginia’s electric grid
carbon-free by 2045; legalizing casinos and sports betting (excluding Virginia colleges and universities)
and allowing local governments to engage in collective bargaining with their employees.
They also raised gas taxes.

Republicans warned that many of their bills will have “unintended consequences” possibly jeopardizing
Virgina’s economy.

I’m also wondering about the unintended consequences of people moving out of Virginia.
