This decision by Governor Larry Hogan is probably the closest thing to martial law that you can have without labeling it.
As these mass actions have taken place as of 5 pm EST, grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, and other essential services remain open.
Hogan, speaking about the way he’s running things, said the following, “The governors are really leading and taking charge in their individual states and are acting on what they think is the best thing. Because while the federal government has had some guidelines — which are changing — they have not given clear directives.”
“We should continue to expect the number of cases to dramatically and rapidly rise. This is going to be much harder, take much longer and be much worse than almost anyone is currently understanding.”
At the time of this article, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Maryland are at 107 and that’s according to figures from the Maryland Health Department and local officials.
With a total of confirmed Coronavirus cases now reaching 107, Governor Hogan has now ordered all public transportation for non-essential personnel and malls, bars, movie theaters and public gathering locations in Maryland to be closed.
Shopping malls, bowling alleys and pool halls must also close.
Gatherings of now 10 or more people are prohibited.
Carryout and food delivery may continue. This effort is meant to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
This effort is also impacting public transportation and the state is urging people should only use trains and buses for work or emergency purposes. [Fox Baltimore]
