In a presidential primary election where no one is really running against President Trump, you would
think most Trump supporters would stay home. What’s the point of voting? He’s going to get the
nomination anyway.

That wasn’t the case in Texas last week when Trump got more votes in the Texas primary than
Democrats Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Mike Bloomberg, and Elizabeth Warren combined.

Another stunning statistic was the total number of votes cast. Once again, there was no real reason
to vote in the Republican presidential primary, but there were still 2,007,314 Republican votes cast in
Texas. On the Democrat side, 2,075,862 votes were cast, a difference of only 68,548 more
Democrats voting than the Republicans.

If there were that many Republican voters showing up when they didn’t have to, just think how many
will show up in November when the future of our Republic is at stake.

It’s not just Texas where almost as many Republicans showed up to vote as the Democrats, even
though they didn’t need to. In Oklahoma, 295,409 Republicans voted vs. 303,977 Democrats. In
Arkansas, more Republicans voted than Democrats with 244,932 Republicans voting vs. 228,771
Democrats.

Trump won the primary in Texas with 94.1% of vote, beating out Texas native George W. Bush when
he ran and won with 92.5%.

According to the Washington Examiner, Republicans are excited about voting for Trump and showed
up in big numbers to support him. Campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh explained, “There is
unprecedented support and enthusiasm for President Trump in the Republican Party, and supporters
are turning out in state primaries because they just can’t wait to get involved in the process that will
end with his re-election.”

Republicans are turning out in historic numbers according to Politico because of his energized base.
The Democrats relentless campaign to take out the president has only made Trump’s base even
stronger and more supportive.

“Impeachment has lit a fire under the Trump base – and I anticipate it will burn until Election Day in
November,” said former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman, chairman of the pro-Trump Republican
Jewish Coalition. “Voter intensity is a key element in electoral success.”
