On Monday night, Fox News’ evening host, Tucker Carlson, split from his colleagues by condemning politicians that are downplaying the seriousness of the Coronavirus.
On the Coronavirus issue, Pres. Trump has repeatedly contradicted experts while lawmakers have openly mocked peoples’ reactions to it, i.e., Rep. Matt Gaetz, who wore a gas mask prop on the House floor last week in an attempt to poke fun at the media for drumming up hysteria. He allegedly is now self-quarantined due to coming in contact with a person that was diagnosed with the disease at CPAC.
Carlson, who has also make fun of the situation referred to it as the “Chinese Coronavirus,” has now changed his view claiming those who continue to minimize it are wrong to do so.

“People you trust, people you probably voted for, have spent weeks minimizing what is clearly a very serious problem, They’re wrong. The Chinese Coronavirus is a major event. It will affect your life, and by the way, it’s definitely not just the flu. In a typical year, the flu in this country has a mortality rate of about 1 in 1000. The overall death rate for this virus, by contrast, is as high as 3.4 percent.”
“The Chinese Coronavirus will get worse. Its effects will be far more disruptive than they are right now. That is not a guess, it is inevitable no matter what they’re telling you. Let’s hope everyone stops lying about that and soon.”
I believe Tucker is right to a point. Coronavirus is a serious issue. If you have seen actual video footage of ground zero in Wuhan of hospitals, hospital staff, and on the streets, you will see the reality of it. There are very few cases in the US but has the potential of spreading rapidly. Plus, the US has tested very few people because the US just doesn’t have the means to test people right now.
About time someone said something factual on Fox News about the situation. How can a deadly virus be used to impeach the president? That’s crazy! To ignore the issue and retain critical information is precisely what the Chinese did, isn’t it? Fox is playing a dangerous game.
Nobody should excite the hysteria surrounding the Coronavirus either. It’s creating an unnecessary panic among people, which led to hoarding and might also result in runs on banks. The Coronavirus infects and kills FAR LESS than the FLU, but if you listen to the news, you’d think the end of the world is coming.
I appreciate that Carlson is taking a moment to be a decent human being and share a bit of truth – this time – on this issue a rare divergence. We don’t know how many people have it or where we are being exposed to it because no one has any tests!! Just think about it, the person you pay at the gas pump, the cashier at the grocery store, the person making or picking your food..think about it folks.
I just saw an article that explains why Coronavirus is so deadly to older people. The virus has a protein on its surface, which contains essential amino acids. It comes up to a cell in your body and offers this protein to the cell, but in young people, there is so much of this protein floating around, the cells do not need any more, so they decline the offer.

The immune system then cleans up the virus since it is outside the cells. As we age, this protein becomes scarcer, so more of our cells accept the invitation, and like a Trojan horse, the virus takes control of each cell and uses your cells to replicate itself, hiding inside the cell, away from your immune system.
This is why the young are spared from the virus, and the older you are, the higher the death rate is. So supplementation sounds reasonable, Whey products have high amounts of this protein. It is predominately found in muscle building products at health food stores. Interesting coincidence that as we get old, our muscles tend to atrophy, and we also become susceptible to this virus as well.
It is going to get A LOT worse before it gets better. And the fact that people are trying to ignore it is only going to make it that much worse.
They are pretending like this is the flu, which is ridiculous. Because we have vaccines for influenza. We don’t have a vaccine for Coronavirus. Not yet.
