Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions isn’t doing too hot.
Last night in the Senate primary in Alabama, he failed to surpass one of his opponents, former football coach Tommy Tuberville and will now face a runoff on March 31st.
So Sessions is now facing the real possibility of losing his Senate seat that he held for two decades before serving as Trump’s AG.
Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will face ex-college football coach Tommy Tuberville in a Republican runoff March 31 as the former Alabama senator seeks to regain the longtime seat he held.
Sessions and Tuberville won the most votes in the primary Tuesday to advance from a crowded primary field. Awaiting the runoff winner in November is Democratic incumbent Doug Jones.

President Trump was quick to share these primary results on Twitter where he shredded Sessions for recusing himself from the Mueller investigation and declared that the main reason why he’s fighting to win back his Senate seat.
This is what happens to someone who loyally gets appointed Attorney General of the United States & then doesn’t have the wisdom or courage to stare down & end the phony Russia Witch Hunt. Recuses himself on FIRST DAY in office, and the Mueller Scam begins! https://t.co/2jGnRgOS6h

Yowza, that is one heck of a tweet and one that’s surely going to tank Sessions even further amongst Trump supporters.
Sessions certainly did seal his fate when he foolishly chose to recuse himself from the Russia investigation instead of standing up to the corrupt witch hunt.
Spineless Sessions claimed he recused himself from the investigation because of a DOJ “rule.”
During his public testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday afternoon, Attorney General Jeff Sessions insisted that he recused himself from Justice Department investigations concerning Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russian officials because of a department rule prohibiting his participation.
“I recused myself, not because of any asserted wrongdoing, or any belief that I may have been involved in any wrongdoing in the campaign,” Sessions said, “but because a Department of Justice regulation … I felt, required it.” [Business Insider]
Sessions recusing himself from the Russia investigation gave free rein to Mueller and allowed that sham to go on way longer than it ever needed to.
Clearly, Sessions just didn’t have the courage to stand up to the D.C. establishment and that why he couldn’t make it as AG and why he’s suffering to get back his senate seat.
