On Thursday, Governor Larry Hogan shut down the Maryland schools for two weeks due to the increasing Coronavirus numbers. On Friday afternoon, reports claim that six new cases are bringing the total of those detected to 18.

Pres. Trump addressed the nation and announced a National Emergency which releases close to if not more than $50 billion to the states to deal with the virus without delays.

If one looks solely at the number of cases reported in each state, they might wonder at the word “crises.” We are a nation with a population of over 340 million. Since so many hate hearing about the impact of the flu this year, I will refrain from those statistics.

Right now, we are in crisis mode – every step possible is being taken to mitigate the inevitable spread. The hyperbole and constant finger-pointing from the media and a political party hoping to regain the WH has not helped and has raised a level of fear to Def Con 1. Yes, there will be more cases; that is inevitable. Systems are in place to mitigate the spread and provide immediate care to those who need it.

The Maryland State Health Department has confirmed 6 additional cases of Coronavirus in the state bringing the total number to 18.

Of the new cases 1 has been reported in Carroll County, 2 in Prince George’s County, 1 in Charles County, 1 in Anne Arundel County, and 1 in Baltimore County.

Gov. Larry Hogan announced “major actions” to contain coronavirus in Maryland, including closing all schools in the state from March 16 through March 27. Maryland is the second state to close its entire school system.

The move will have a huge impact on the families of nearly 1 million school children in the state. The state is recommending districts use its spring break days as makeup days.

But many questions remain unanswered such as how this will impact graduation, curriculum and those students who rely on a warm lunch or school meal. [WBFF]

There is a lot of fear, uncertainty, and doubt going on right now. Take time to clear your head and get a handle on your emotions. Studies have shown that meditatîon reduces stress and anxiety.

It is also useful for building concentration, and living more in the present moment, versus living in regrets about the past or anxieties about the future. Take 5-10 minutes each day to clear your head. Find a quiet place where you can sit without distraction.

Close your eyes and focus on the sensation of your breath, either at the tip of your nose or in your chest. When thoughts come into your head, acknowledge them, and let them go, and return focus to the sensation of your breath. This is very diffìcult to do at first, but over time, you will get better and better at it.

People most susceptible are elderly, very young children, and all Democrats. This is going to go hard on Democrats. They can survive in good times, but this will hit the moocher class hard. I bet Bernie Sanders is held up in his mansion and has an army of food tasters, breathers, and first contractors around him to make sure the proletariat is the first to go.

I see the administration’s pandemic response as successful. Limiting travel effectively three weeks after finding out about COVID.

Moving infected travelers to Military Bases for quarantine, giving aid to American Cities (acknowledged by NY and CA Governors), and expanding travel restrictions for Europe and assembling a well-respected team of professionals, whose experience is germane to pandemic situations. He was proposing tax relief for small businesses, which will lose money during this time. He has done more in this type of situation than any of his predecessors in the same location.
