Tucker Carlson has been all over it the last month or so trying to inform and educate his views about the perils of the coronavirus. There’s a video about Fox News voices who tried to downplay the virus and blame Democrats but weeks and even days later, their monologues changed to warn Americans of the viruses severeness.

I wish people would stop politicizing this and every other issue and instead come together as Americans and help one another through this crisis.

Given the fact that we are fairly certain now that transmission has been occurring from people who have mild or no symptoms, the reality is that it will continue to spread. However, the fatality rates are totally overhyped by the media and the WHO. They are based on people showing up at hospitals and comparing that to the number who die. With the vast majority of people asymptomatic it would indicate that the fatality rate has to be cut by at least 6 or 7 and then we are talking about flu-like without prior vaccination and herd immunity.

So once we get all the data, we will see that for most people, those under 50 this is no riskier than the flu. For those older, it is much more serious.

Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson says he felt a “moral obligation” to meet with President Donald Trump and warn him personally about the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic.

Carlson told Vanity Fair that “I didn’t feel it was my role” but was convinced by his wife to meet with Trump at Mar-a-Lago on March 7. Two nights later on his Fox show, he issued a pointed warning to viewers to prepare for the coming storm.

It speaks to both Fox News’ influence with the president and his supporters that a cable news host was able to contact the White House and successfully request the two-hour meeting. Carlson drove to the president’s resort from his Florida home, ironically on the day some guests at Mar-a-Lago were exposed to the virus.

He declined a request to speak to The Associated Press about it on Wednesday, and the White House had no comment on a private meeting. [MarketWatch]

Thank you, Tucker, for moving the president to take this matter seriously. After all, this is over can you please look about getting a better medical program established to better prepare ourselves if another virus attacks our venerability.

It has always been incumbent upon leaders to minimize threats in an attempt to avert panic and mass hysteria amount citizens, which only exacerbates the problem. Who is benefiting from the panic we see around us? Certainly not the people. Not medical professionals, not the economy. So who benefits?

Can we stop with the partisan backbiting and finger-pointing? We are ALL in this together and can only change what we do going forward. Give us news stories without biases, please. NEWS stories.
