Today is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s last day as senior members of the British royal family, and to mark they occasion, they took to their Instagram page Sussex royal for the final time to issue a heartbreaking plea to their fans.

In their last post on their royal Instagram page, Harry and Meghan addressed the coronavirus pandemic while also giving their fans a message of hope. They then issued a plea to their followers to come together and “lift each other up” to get one another through this difficult time.

“As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile,” the couple wrote. “Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line—together we can lift each other up to realise the fullness of that promise.”

Harry and Meghan went on to make it clear that they are still figuring out how best they can help society in the midst of the pandemic.

“What’s most important right now is the health and wellbeing of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic,” they continued. “As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute.”

Harry and Meghan concluded their note by saying that they “look forward to reconnecting soon,” adding, “until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another.”

They noticeably did not sign the note with their royal titles, instead simply writing, “Harry and Meghan.”

Harry and Meghan shocked the world when they announced they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family back in January. After much back and forth with Queen Elizabeth and royal staffers, March 31 was set as the official date that Harry and Meghan would step down, according to the U.K. Mirror. However, the couple has already started the process of moving on with their lives, as they have left the United Kingdom and moved to Los Angeles, California, where they are currently looking at homes.
