The 2020 Democratic Primary has been nothing short of chaotic. After Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, there is still no clear frontrunner–Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and billionaire Mike Bloomberg show no signs of pulling out of the race. The chances that none of the candidates will reach the required 1,990 delegates to become the nominee is becoming greater, which means the odds of a contested convention have increased significantly.

From the Washington Times:

Sen. Bernie Sanders is making the Democrats very uneasy — so uneasy, in fact, that leftist insiders are reportedly whispering up a storm about the potential to bring in Sherrod Brown, Michelle Obama, Nancy Pelosi and others seen as more in line with the party’s values.

Which isn’t really much of a standard to meet when you think about it, because Democrat values include everything from killing babies to beating MAGA-hat wearers on the head with baseball bats.

Hey, if the pretty universally hated House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is being named as a possible candidate to beat Sanders, you know the party’s desperate.

Yahoo News reported, “[A] growing number of establishment party officials are reportedly considering Sherrod Brown as a late entry ‘white knight’ with Michelle Obama as a running mate. Other potential candidates … include Kamala Harris … as well as [H]ouse [S]peaker Nancy Pelosi, according to the New York Times’ interview with 93 party officials.”

The “party officials” interviewed by the Times were super delegates with the DNC; should the primary process go to a contested convention, the super delegates will have the power to decide the nominee. The DNC’s super delegates are vehemently anti-Sanders because they know he would lose in a general election against President Donald Trump this November. Many of the super delegates are additionally wealthy individuals in their own right, and realize that Bernie’s socialist plans will result in a large portion of their wealth being confiscated. Democrats are fine with big government socialists like Sanders demonizing Republicans–as long as his plans never come to fruition and end up draining their own bank accounts.

So now, the super delegates are scrambling to find a new candidate. But at this point, there doesn’t seem to be anybody who could appeal to all Democratic voters–including Bernie supporters who would feel burned if the DNC picked a different candidate–and ultimately beat Donald Trump.
