On the strength of support from black voters, Joe Biden won a convincing victory over Bernie Sanders in Saturday’s South Carolina Democratic primary. Dance star Tom Steyer, who came in third, dropped out of the race. The other candidates were non-factors.

Biden has got a new lease on life, until Tuesday.

Then with California, Texas, and Virginia in the mix on Super Tuesday he may not get so resounding a win. In fact, the day could go solidly for Bernie Sanders after all the delegates are counted.

However, Sanders has his issues as well. If he doesn’t come out of Super Tuesday with somewhere around 600 delegates, he can be stopped.

In two weeks he’s bound to take a hit in Florida, which could go for Biden, with Bloomberg a strong second.

Sanders’ opponents and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) can also do that delegate math, and the big guns and sharp knives will be out against Bernie, including a possible endorsement of Biden by his former boss, the disgraced 44th president. A nod from a disgraced chief executive goes a long way with the Democrats.

Who seems to win either way? The president. Though more so with Sanders than with Biden.

With Sanders a good chunk of the Democrats stay at home or don’t vote for president one way or another, the DNC only gives tepid support, half the major media bails, and a 40 to 45 state Trump win is in the cards. And in debate? Bernie shouts and howls like a madman.

With Biden the media holds for the Democrats, unions come on for him big, the DNC is on board, Obama endorses, and the former veep could be a problem in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. In debate, Trump wins big and the only issue is not beating up on Joe too badly and causing him to gain pity, especially from young and female voters. In this match-up the president wins slightly better than he won in 2016.

So we wait with anticipation, as do Sanders and Biden, until Tuesday night. Then, very possibly, we will know the main card for the November election fight.
