Former Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign rebuffed James Comey today after the former FBI Director tried to endorse him.

Comey took to Twitter on Super Tuesday to proudly say that he voted for Biden.

“Voted in first Dem primary to support party dedicated to restoring values in WH. I agree with @amyklobuchar: We need candidate who cares about all Americans and will restore decency, dignity to the office,” Comey wrote. “There is a reason Trump fears @JoeBiden and roots for Bernie. #Biden2020.”

Comey undoubtedly regretted this tweet just twenty minutes later when Biden campaign rapid response director Andrew Bates rejected his endorsement in a truly brutal way.

“Yes, customer service? I just received a package that I very much did not order. How can I return it, free of charge?” Bates wrote as a response to Comey.

Despite the fact that Comey has become an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump’s, he remains a polarizing figure in the Democratic Party, as establishment members of the party have never forgiven him for what he did to Hillary Clinton in 2016. Just days before that election, Comey announced that the FBI was reopening their investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State, and many liberals still feel that this move cost her the election.

Biden’s campaign seemed dead in the water at times over the past few weeks, but everything appears to have turned around for him since he won South Carolina last week. Establishment Democrats have rallied behind Biden in the past few days, with failed candidates Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg endorsing him officially yesterday.

One endorsement that Biden has not yet received, however, is the one that arguably matters most: the endorsement of former President Barack Obama, whose silence on his ex-vice president’s campaign has been deafening.
