Socialism is all fun and games until you actually have to start parting with your stuff, right?
Well, that’s the lesson some Bernie supporters learned when they were asked to fork over their coats to a guy who was freezing on the streets of D.C.

Here’s the set up:
Daily Caller reporter Matt Miller hit the cold streets of D.C. in nothing but a short-sleeved shirt and went on the hunt to find a bunch of Bernie socialists.
It didn’t take long….It’s D.C., after all.

He kicks things off by asking the people for their opinion about socialism and its most famous torchbearer Bernie Sanders, and they’re all are on board with him and his plan.
After these poor saps have dug themselves a big socialist hole by rambling on about how great it is – Miller then asks the Bernie socialists (who all looked pretty well-off, to be honest) if he could borrow their jacket…and suddenly “capitalism” kicked in.
Hilarious! These people are so predictable but funny, nonetheless.

Redistribution is about those who are forced to give and those who’ll happily take.
The number who are forced to give, we’re told, will always be small.
It never is.
The windfall those who take are supposed to get is always supposed to be fantastically large. It never is.
No, it may not be your coat on a cold winter’s day.
It’s not a bad metaphor, though, if just for one problem: The jacket is never quite as warm when it eventually gets to those who “need” it.
That’s because socialism is never a peer-to-peer transaction.
There’s always a middleman in government facilitating it — one who has great ideas and needs to take a little of the fabric for overhead.
Plus, that jacket might not be environmentally sustainable. You’ll probably end up with a jacket that doesn’t fit and is made from a completely different fiber that doesn’t actually make you warm — but it cut waste from the jacket-making process by 32 percent!
And in the end, what will happen is those with the jackets will protect their right to keep their jackets.
They probably won’t have earned it. Welcome to the system of real greed and envy, comrade. [Western Journal]
The “idea” of socialism sounds great to these people, but the practical application of it sounds awful…because it is.
We have an entire generation of people (Millennials) who made a lot of poor choices and got into a lot of debt, and those people are scared now and want the government to take of them and their future.
Many of these people do need some guidance and help, but socialism is not the way to go.
