Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who is arguably better known for taking a knee during the national anthem, has just announced plans to tell his story in a memoir that will be released through his own publishing company. He also claimed that he wants to play for the NFL again, even though it’s been over three years since he played in the league.

“I want to tell the story of my evolution, and the events that led me to protest systemic oppression, in hopes that it will inspire others to rise in action,” Kaepernick said in a statement released today, according to ESPN.

The statement went on to add that the memoir will focus on the backstory of what led Kaepernick to allegedly “risk his career” by starting his anthem-kneeling protests.

Kaepernick was a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers in 2016 when he began kneeling during the national anthem before his games to protest racial inequality in the U.S. Many saw this as a blatant sign of disrespect to the American flag and those who have fought and died for it, making Kaepernick very unpopular to patriots everywhere.

Kaepernick left the 49ers after the 2016 season, and he has not been signed by another team since. Liberals have turned him into a martyr of sorts, claiming that he has not been signed again by the NFL due to racism. Others, however, have pointed out that Kaepernick led the 49ers to a losing record in 2016, so it could be his lack of football skill that has not gotten him signed.

The former quarterback claimed this week that he still wants to play football in the NFL.

“My desire to play football is still there,” Kaepernick told USA Today. “I still train five days a week. I’m ready to go, I’m ready for a phone call, tryout, workout at any point in time. I’m still waiting on the owners and their partners to stop running from this situation. So I hope I get a call this offseason. I’ll be looking forward to it.”

This is hard to believe, however, given what happened in November, when the NFL set up a workout for Kaepernick to show off his skills to representatives from all 32 teams in the league. The NFL had not wanted the press to attend, but at the very last second, Kaepernick changed the location to a different venue sixty miles away so that cameras and reporters would indeed be there. Only eight teams were able to get their reps there after the last minute change, and Kaepernick has not been signed by any of them.

Kaepernick is not the victim he loves to portray himself as, and he has no interest in playing football again. Instead, all he wants is fame and fortune for himself, and he has no problem repeatedly shaming the U.S. to get it. He is a disgrace to football and to America, and we hope to never see him on the field again.
