Really? A cold? Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg cancelled several Florida campaign appearances on Wednesday because he had a cold.

About 90% of us still go to work with a cold. Take some medicine, get some throat lozenges, buy some Kleenex. Suck it up, Pete. It’s not the flu. It’s not the coronavirus.

If you want to be president, you have to push through. You will get sick, you will lose sleep. I can’t remember ever reading about Trump not doing something because of a cold or being tired.

According to entrepreneur.com, the sleep habits of the rich and famous are often different than the rest of us peons. They say that Thomas Edison thought sleep was a waste of time, preferring to take a bunch of power naps during the day. Leonardo da Vinci did the same. Is sleep deprivation the secret of success?

What if Pete needs to meet with Putin or Netanyahu? Is he going to take the day off because his nose is running?

Tough it out and do what you have to do, Mr. B. While some of the other candidates are asking to see more of Bernie Sander’s health records, maybe they should be concerned about the stamina of the youngest candidate and your ability to push through a paper cut, a stubbed toe or a cold.

Do you support individual military members being able to opt out of getting the COVID vaccine?

You’re going to get headaches, Pete. And sleep deprivation. You’ll have to deal with stress, a lot of work and time zone changes not to mention being in different countries halfway across the world.

Just by looking at President Trump’s tweets, we all know that he only gets about four hours a sleep every night yet he is still the Energizer Bunny.

He does what he has to do to get the job done, Pete.

That’s what presidents do.

But don’t worry, I’m pretty sure you won’t have to worry about what presidents do.

So take your meds, get a little more sleep and put in the minimum requirements for your candidacy.

Meanwhile, President Trump will continue to do what he has to do to get the job done.

Which is why we voted for him.
