Brad Pitt, who has remained politically neutral for quite some time, decided to take jabs at President Trump during his acceptance speech at the Oscars last night.

Ironically, Pitt just recently stated that actors shouldn’t talk about politics during an interview with acting legend, Sir Anthony Hopkins.

“I don’t have any opinions,” he added. “Actors are pretty stupid. My opinion is not worth anything. There’s no controversy for me, so don’t engage me in it, because I’m not going to participate.”

Pitt agreed with Hopkins.

“I feel the same. I don’t care,” he said. “I’m glad things are always evolving and changing, and complaining about it won’t do any good. You work with what you have.” [Bizpacreview]

This irony isn’t lost on everyone and many critics came out to condemn Pitt for his hypocrisy, including Piers Morgan, who pointed out that these political jabs from Hollywood will only help Trump more.

Pitt also received backlash from fellow actress Alana Stewart, who correctly stated that most American’s don’t care what Hollywood’s political opinions are.

Conservatives are also piling on Pitt, specifically Tomi Lahren and Dana Loesch, who both issued scorching responses.

Brad Pitt’s smug political speech is yet another example of how far removed Hollywood is removed from reality.

Like most actors who get political, I’m sure Pitt will see a decline in his viewership.
