President Trump’s lawyer Pat Cipollone came out with guns blazing on the first day of the impeachment trial where he accused Democrats of not only trying to steal the 2016 election with this sham trial but also the 2020 election.
“They’re not here to steal one election. They’re here to steal two elections. A partisan impeachment is like stealing an election. And that’s exactly what we have.”

Cipollone hit the nail on the head with that one, but he didn’t stop there!

Trump’s savage lawyer hit Democrats 2020 hopefuls like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders by clearing stating that they should be campaigning in Iowa, not twiddling their fingers at a useless trial.
“Talk about the framer’s worst nightmare; it’s a partisan impeachment that they’ve delivered to your doorstep in an election year. Some of you are upset because you should be in Iowa right now.”

Of course, we all know that another big reason Pelosi and other Democrats are holding this impeachment trial now is in an effort to bolster Joe Bidens 2020 bid by preventing Warren and Sanders from hitting the campaign trail.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggested this same theory last week, which of course, Pelosi denied.
McCarthy said “if you look at the true political nature” of Pelosi’s decision to withhold the two articles of impeachment, it was “to harm one campaign and give a benefit to another.”
Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Pelosi, tweeted a response to McCarthy’s remarks.
“Impeachment has nothing to do with politics or the presidential race. As usual, the Minority Leader has no idea what he’s talking about,” Hammill wrote. [The Hill]
Pelosi can try and deny it all she wants, but the entire impeachment sham is a way to not only tamper with Trump’s 2020 bid but to also ensure that Bernie Sanders doesn’t get the nomination.
It’s like 2016 all over again, folks.
