Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz knows for a fact that our Founding Fathers would not have approved of the Dems sham impeachment. As a matter of fact, he can prove it…and that’s precisely what he will do during the Senate impeachment trial.
On Friday, Dershowitz appeared on MSNBC, where he kiboshed Democrats’ half-baked claim that President Trump “abused his power” – saying even if he did do that, it’s not an actual “impeachable offense.”
Democrats sent through two articles of impeachment against Trump: one “abuse of power” and another “obstruction of Congress.”
Previously, Dershowitz explained how SCOTUS pretty much screwed the Dems on “obstruction of Congress” (we reported on that back in December):
Dershowitz told MSNBC that the Dems “abuse of power” is also a bust.
“Abuse of power, even if proved, is not an impeachable offense,” Derwshowitz said. “That’s exactly what the framers rejected. They didn’t want to give Congress the authority to remove a president because he abused his power,” he explained. “They have to prove treason, they have to prove bribery, or they have to prove other crimes and misdemeanors.”
This is the legal strategy that Dershowitz will use to defend President Trump during the upcoming impeachment trial.
“Virtually half of American presidents — from Adams, to Jefferson, to Lincoln, to Roosevelt — have been accused of abuse of power, and the framers explicitly rejected those kinds of broad, open-ended criteria,” Dershowitz explained.

We’ve known from the get-g0 that this impeachment was a flimsy sham. They have nothing on President Trump. They’re simply throwing crap at the wall, hoping something sticks.
The Dems had to do this…If they didn’t impeach, their base would revolt and they’d lose 2020 by an epic landslide. If they did impeach, they’d still lose but maybe not as humiliating of a loss.
They also get to attach the “impeachment” label to President Trump to try and use against him in his second term, especially when he goes to appoint RBG’s SCOTUS replacement…because you know that’s coming.
