UPDATE: Officials report there is no longer an active shooter threat and that the base is open with limited access conditions.
Quick update: lockdown was lifted for most of base (SOCOM & SOCCENT), it remains in place for the areas of base near the control tower.

MacDill Air Force Base is on lockdown after reports of an active shooter early this morning.
Air Force and Tampa, FL officials have not confirmed the status of the alleged shooter or any casualties at this time.
Just got an alert while here at MacDill for an Active Shooter. We're in lock-down. Be safe.
