President Donald Trump implied that the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle needs to toughen up after she complained about how “hard” her life is as a royal in an interview that aired earlier this month.

Daily Mail reported that Trump said on Thursday that he had watched the interview in which Markle talked about the negative press she has received from the British tabloids since marrying Prince Harry. The president said that Meghan had taken the criticisms she received from the press “very personally.”

“I guess you’ve got to be a little bit different than that but she takes it very personally and I can understand it. But I don’t know her,” Trump said.

Though Trump got tough when it came to Meghan, he had nothing but praise for her husband Harry.

“I met him when I was over at that incredible… we had something that was so incredible recently,” Trump said of his trip to the U.K. “What that was five months ago, time flies. “He’s a great young man. The whole family is terrific, it’s a great family.”

Trump also praised Queen Elizabeth as “an incredible woman” and recalled sitting next to her during a state banquet at Buckingham Palace.

“I sat next to her, and she was smiling and having a good time and I was smiling and having a good time,” he said. “It was really a great evening, and I was told that she enjoyed it and I can tell you I enjoyed it.”

This comes weeks after Meghan complained about how “hard” her life is despite the fact that it is funded by British taxpayers. Despite the fact that Meghan lives an extravagantly cushy multi-million dollar lifestyle, she claims it is far from easy.

“I think the grass is always greener,” Meghan said. “You have no idea. It’s really hard to understand what it’s like. I know what it seems like it should be, but it’s a very different thing.”

Meghan went on to say that dealing with the British tabloids has been particularly difficult.

“I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair,” Meghan whined. “And that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile.”

“In all fairness, I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand and hear,” Meghan added of the negative coverage she’s received. “But when I first met my now-husband, my friends were really happy because I was so happy, but my British friends said to me, ‘I’m sure he’s great but you shouldn’t do it because the British tabloids will destroy your life.’”
