—Here are 3 big things you need to know—
One — The search for a mass killer on the loose in Maine is continuing this morning. Authorities are searching for 40-year-old Robert Card, who they believe was the gunman who killed 18 people and wounded over a dozen others in two mass shootings in the town of Lewiston Wednesday night, first at a bowling alley and then at a bar. Residents in the Lewiston area are being urged to stay indoors.
Two— The United Auto Workers strike cost Ford Motor Company one-point-three-billion-dollars over its 41 days. The automaker it lost 400-million a week since the strike began September 15th and ended with the tentative contract agreement on Wednesday. Ford chief financial officer John Lawler says the company will stay profitable with the deal, but labor costs per vehicle will rise between 850 and 900 dollars.
Three — New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman is pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge for pulling a fire alarm in a Capitol building. He entered his plea in D.C. Superior Court yesterday morning as part of an agreement with prosecutors. He’ll have to pay a one-thousand dollar fine and write an apology letter to Capitol Police. Prosecutors in return will dismiss the charge in three months.
