—Here are 3 big things you need to know—

Three—  People in Texas are bracing for a soaking from Tropical Storm Nicholas today.  Up to 15 inches of rain is possible in some areas, while others could see a hurricane or flash flooding.  The storm will head to Louisiana after, sending the state into another emergency.

Two— Michigan’s average gas price is down three-cents in the past week to three-dollars-18-cents a gallon.  Triple-A Michigan says prices should stabilize this week as the Gulf Coast refineries continue to recover from Hurricane Ida.  Metro Detroit still the most expensive at three-dollars-27-cents a gallon.

And number one— House Democrats are looking to raise taxes to pay for the proposed three-point-five trillion dollar budget package.  That includes increasing the top rate on individuals to 39-point-six percent from 37 percent.  The corporate tax rate would go up to 26-point-five percent.
