El-Sayed Wants ‘Money Out of Politics’ – Just Not HIS Politics

If you spend any time on YouTube or Roku these days, there’s a decent chance Abdul El-Sayed will appear several times an hour to remind you that he wants “money out of politics.”

But apparently, there are exceptions.

The Democratic U.S. Senate nominee for Michigan recently traveled to California for a fundraiser hosted at the home of Jeffrey Soros, the wealthy Hollywood producer and nephew of billionaire Democratic megadonor George Soros. A flyer for the Sept. 28 event said guests could contribute as much as $57,800 to the Abdul for Michigan Victory Fund.

That makes for an interesting contrast with El-Sayed’s campaign pitch. His campaign says he has never taken corporate PAC money and repeatedly promotes his promise to “get money out of politics.” But that pledge rings a little hollow when outside PACs are spending heavily to help elect him – including a group hazily funded by his father-in-law – and El-Sayed doesn’t appear to be telling them to stop.

Maybe El-Sayed doesn’t really want money out of politics – he just wants to make sure it’s flowing to the right side.
