Well, knock us over with a baguette. Antifa isn’t just an American headache. The far-left movement is alive and well and reportedly helping turn the streets of France into a war zone.
Breitbart News reports [1] that according to a French intelligence assessment, radical left-wing groups, including Antifa activists and anarchists, were at the forefront of violent clashes during nationwide protests Saturday.
The unrest included attacks on police, fires, vandalism and widespread looting. Intelligence officials reportedly identified thousands of individuals associated with violent extremist groups, although they distinguished politically motivated agitators from opportunistic looters.
Yes, while France is famous for its wine, cheese and the Eiffel Tower, it now has another attraction making headlines: masked radicals causing mayhem.
Meanwhile, outlets like CNN continue to portray the unrest as students simply demanding a fair and equitable future. But that narrative is getting harder to sell as violent extremists, including Antifa-linked groups, move to the forefront. Whatever peaceful intentions the demonstrations may have started with, those voices are increasingly being drowned out by radicals who want to tear down Western civilization.
France has FREE health care, paid parental leave, paid family leave, FREE child care, FREE preschool, 5 weeks paid vacation, a 35 hour work week, generous unemployment and housing benefits, and heavily subsidized higher education.
Everything the left says they want AND THEY’RE STILL PROTESTING AND BURNING SHIT DOWN.

And while the violence and destruction have been playing out in the streets of France, some in the American media seem determined to tell a very different story. CNN commentator Scott Jennings once again had to play the adult in the room recently as fellow panelists portrayed France’s violent riots as student protests. Jennings pointed [3] to the destruction and growing unrest, while PoliticsGirl podcast host and liberal political commentator Leigh McGowan went on a lunatic rant. But the French intelligence report identifying Antifa and other far-left extremists as major players says otherwise to CNN’s fake news reporting.
Digging deep into what is going on is Fox News who has identified [4] 54 organizations involved in France’s protest movement and its broader network of supporters, including communist groups, labor unions, socialist organizations and pro-Palestinian activists. Only 16 were student or youth organizations. The remaining 38 included adult-led political and activist groups. So much for the narrative that this is simply a bunch of frustrated students demanding better schools. What began as a student protest has become a much bigger political circus, with plenty of far-left players joining the show.
