Wisconsin Democrats Discover the Brake Pedal on Anti-American Progressive Insanity: Socialist Francesca Hong Loses Governor Primary

Somewhere in Wisconsin Tuesday night, Democratic voters apparently looked at the party’s march toward anti-American socialism and said, “Maybe not this time.”

Unfortunately for the crazy Left, Democratic socialist State Rep. Francesca Hong lost Wisconsin’s Democratic gubernatorial primary to Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, a more moderate Democrat. Crowley won by roughly 3,000 votes, 39.8% to 39.4%, according to reported results. No, it shouldn’t have been THAT close, but at least she lost.

Hong, a Democratic Socialists of America member, had been considered the frontrunner and embraced policies including universal child care, defunding the police, and no prisons. She also was exposed for inflammatory social media posts, including one calling for canceling Thanksgiving.

Outgoing Democratic Gov. Tony Evers endorsed Crowley, who openly warned about socialism’s growing influence within his party. And apparently, just enough Democrats agreed – this time. After a string of progressive victories elsewhere, Wisconsin voters were able to provide evidence that the Democratic Party’s moderate wing still has a pulse. A faint one, perhaps, but at least it’s there.

And what about the polling? Wasn’t Hong supposed to cruise to victory? Polling had her beating Crowley by more than 20 percentage points. Instead, Crowley beat her. So much for the polling crystal ball.

The scary thing is that she’s still a State Rep. – at least until January 2027.
