No Kings, No Clue: Protests Still Powered by Vibes, Not Values

The latest round of “No Kings” protests proved one thing again loud and clear: when it comes to political philosophy, the only unifying principle they have at these protests is “Orange Man Bad.”

Yes, millions showed up across the country protesting Donald Trump – but that’s mostly all they are doing. According to a report from Just the News [1], if you ask the protesters what they actually stand for, things get about as clear as a Kamala Harris speech about being unburdened by what has been.

Critics and observers on the ground say the crowds are fueled more by anger than ideas, with many unable to articulate any kind of consistent message or goal. Similarly, broader reporting shows the movement bouncing between a grab bag of issues – basically whatever is the soup of the day – immigration, foreign policy, “democracy,” or whatever else is trending.

In other words, it’s not a movement. It’s a mood. And the mood is “I hate Trump.”

But that’s what happens when you have a group of activist organizations funding the Trump-hating protest movements based on their segmented grievance list.

One protester waves a sign about Iran, another about pronouns, a third about capitalism – and somehow it all funnels back to the same conclusion: Trump must go. Full stop.

When your only real platform is opposition, you don’t need consistency…you just need a loud megaphone, a shared dislike for 47, and billions pouring in to fund your TDS cause of the day – whatever that may be.
