In what might be the fastest political pivot since “two weeks to flatten the curve,” some Democrats online are now urging voters to show up in person – after years of insisting mail-in voting was the gold standard.
Why the sudden change of heart? Because the rules might change – and not to their advantage.
A pending U.S. Supreme Court case [1] could determine whether ballots arriving after Election Day can still be counted – a practice currently allowed in some states but is now under serious legal scrutiny.
Translation: if your ballot shows up late in the dead of night five days after the election, it might not make the cut.
