Welcome to 2026, where you now have to worry about bird poop on your Pringles. A massive recall of about 1,900 SKUs of products has been announced after an FDA inspection found a Minnesota distribution facility riddled with rodent feces, urine, and yes, bird droppings – like a nature-themed horror movie set in your pantry.
Minnesota-based Gold Star Distribution Inc., a wholesale supplier of over-the-counter medications, well-known snack brands, cosmetics, and pet food, announced the recall on Dec. 26 after problems were discovered at its Minneapolis warehouse.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA [1]), inspectors found the facility was operating under “insanitary conditions, including the presence of rodent excreta, rodent urine, and bird droppings in areas where medical devices, drugs, human food, pet food, and cosmetic products were held.”
The rot (literally) spread through products shipped to stores in Minnesota, Indiana, and North Dakota.
We’re not talking weird brands no one’s heard of either – this recall hits everything from Jif peanut butter to Pringles, Advil, Tylenol, DayQuil, and more. The entire list is here.

So before you snack, medicate, or feed the cat, double-check the labels. Because discovering your food was warehoused alongside rodents and birds is a fast track to losing both your appetite and your trust in the snack aisle.
