Netflix’s Kids Section Is Starting to Look Like a Groomer’s Playground

Parents used to worry about too much screen time. Now they have to worry about what’s appearing ON the screen – because Netflix has apparently decided children’s entertainment should double as a crash- course in sexual politics.

According to a new report [1] from Concerned Women for America (CWA), almost half of the platform’s “kid- friendly” shows on Netflix are slipping LGBT ideology into cartoons aimed at preschoolers. This isn’t inclusion – it’s indoctrination dressed up in bright colors and talking animals. It’s creepy and it’s wrong.

The study found that 41% of Netflix’s children’s programming rated G or TV-Y7 contains LGBTQ+ content or themes. 41%!!! Shows that parents might assume are harmless “kid-friendly” entertainment are actually serving up an LGBTQ+ agenda.

One example is the Netflix TV series Ada Twist, Scientist which is targeted at kids who are seven years old and older and features a wedding between two men complete with kisses and celebration.

Netflix isn’t even pretending to follow the TV parental guidelines [2] – but since the system is “voluntary,” everyone just slaps on whatever rating makes them feel warm and fuzzy. A “G” rating is supposed to mean suitable for all ages, with little or no sexual dialogue or situations. Netflix clearly missed that memo. And sure, maybe the government can’t march in and shut them down or make them put new ratings on their shows. But they can hold hearings, drag these networks into the spotlight, and shame them into acting like adults. HELLO, GOVERNMENT? ANYONE HOME? ANYONE AWAKE?

In their press release, CWA CEO and President Penny Nance says, “Netflix’s anti-child, anti-family agenda has finally been exposed – its children’s programming has been infiltrated by adult preoccupations with sexual preferences and gender identity.”

Nance goes on to say, “And now with Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Brothers/Discovery, families must beware that Netflix will be able to expand its irresponsible approach to content moderation for children. Government should make that part of the conversation of this merger. There should be an outside, independent council that represents the interest of parents, reviewing program ratings.”

The core of childhood cartoons and media used to be silly adventures, harmless hijinks, maybe an occasional moral. Now you’ve got “identity politics 101” in programs targeting preschoolers which appears to be doubling as “grooming.”

If your goal is to keep childhood cartoons sweet and silly and you don’t want your young children to be indoctrinated and sexualized, it’s time to get serious about the streaming services that you support.
