Lobsters on the Lam. A $400K Case of Vanishing Crustaceans.

It’s a seafood mystery crime story with nearly $400,000 worth of Costco lobsters that have disappeared into thin air on their way from Massachusetts to the Midwest.

According to the New York Post [1], a band of modern-day lobster liberators pulled off this high-stakes shellfish swipe using fake IDs, burner phones, and spoofed emails, posing as legit truckers. Poof – just like that, the precious lobsters were gone.

This was a nearly half-million-dollar heist, clearly executed by someone who really, really wanted their surf with no turf. The FBI is now involved because even lobsters aren’t safe from organized crime.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are left wondering:

If you’re heading to Costco for dinner and find the lobster counter emptier than expected, now you know why.

Where are the lobsters? Probably somewhere with better security.
