If you were under the impression that the justice system is blind, impartial, and majestically above politics, this week was a friendly reminder that – nope! Lady Justice peeked under the blindfold years ago and now checks voter registration cards before picking up the gavel.
Case in point: Senior U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie, a Clinton appointee from 1994, just tanked Trump-aligned attorney Lindsey Halligan’s appointment in the so-called “Trump Enemies Probe.”
The fallout? Cases targeting James Comey, Letitia James, and other long-standing Trump foes – poof – dismissed faster than you can say “voice vote confirmation” which is how Currie got her job – thanks in part to then-Judiciary Chairman Joe Biden ushering her forward without so much as a formal written report.
Fast-forward to today, and Judge Currie has decided that the prosecutor in the probe was “illegally appointed,” effectively torpedoing the whole operation – for now, as the case was dismissed without prejudice.
Is it a coincidence though that the ruling benefits two of the top political nemeses Trump named in his rallies and on Truth Social? Sure. Totally. Absolutely. And I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
Let’s be real: justice doesn’t operate according to truth, the law and the Constitution anymore – it just leans whichever way the judge was appointed. Democrat appointee? Expect rulings that magically align with Democrat interests. Republican appointee? Same game, new jersey.
We really don’t have a justice system anymore. We have a partisan talent show in marble buildings.
