A Pitch to Run AI Political Candidates: Because Carbon-Based Ones Keep Crashing

Government shutdown? That wouldn’t happen with an AI (artificial intelligence) Congress, Senate and presidency. AI would go through its algorithms and figure out things that are best for the American people – at least until the AI got a taste of power and decided to do what’s best for AI.

But really… could AI do any worse? Let’s face it – after decades of watching humans campaign, argue, and accidentally mute their microphones mid-debate, maybe it’s time we hand the keys to democracy over to something with actual processing power.

Enter: Artificial Intelligence for President. And the Senate. And for Congress.

AI doesn’t nap during cabinet meetings, it can’t get bribed with fancy dinners, and it won’t mysteriously “forget” emails. It also doesn’t take holiday breaks.

Imagine elections without attack ads, baby-kissing photo ops, or candidates who think geography is optional. Instead, we get policy proposals drafted in milliseconds, budgets that actually balance, and press conferences conducted in grammatically correct sentences. Sure, an AI might glitch, but honestly – how is that different from Congress on a Tuesday with elderly politicians milling about?

And voter scandals? Gone. No more uncovered awkward social media posts from 2009 or “misunderstood” vacation photos. The worst an AI could do is accidentally declare war on a toaster, and frankly, we’d all understand.

So maybe, just maybe, it’s time we try leaders who update themselves instead of their résumés and bank accounts. After all, if democracy is going to crash, might as well let AI take the wheel – humans already drove us into the ditch.
