Thanks to Trump, Antifa Finally Designated a Domestic Terrorist Organization

After years of hurling Molotov cocktails at folks that don’t like, Antifa has officially been slapped with the “domestic terrorist organization” label thanks to an Executive Order [1] from President Trump. Antifa is short for anti-fascist but they are anything but as they go about their days swinging fists and worse at anyone who disagrees with them.

For years, we’ve watched black-clad and masked activists “peacefully protest” by torching police cars, smashing Starbucks windows, and chasing anyone with a flag that didn’t have a rainbow or an anti- fascist logo on it. But apparently, the government has finally caught up to what average people figured out ages ago: if it looks like a terrorist group, acts like a terrorist group, and posts social media comments like a terrorist group – well, you get the point.

Trump’s executive order calls Antifa a “militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government, law enforcement authorities, and our system of law.”

The order goes on to say “All relevant executive departments and agencies shall utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations – especially those involving terrorist actions – conducted by Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa, or for which Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa provided material support, including necessary investigatory and prosecutorial actions against those who fund such operations.”

Imagine that – criminal actions by the Left might actually have consequences.

That will be good news to journalist Andy Ngo who covers the criminal endeavors of Antifa and has faced their violence himself. Ngo has reported [2] recently that after the assassination of Kirk, he is also on their target list.

Critics will, of course, defend their Antifa friends and cry that this is a crackdown on “free speech.” Sorry, but chanting “burn it all down” while holding lighter fluid isn’t exactly the First Amendment in action. This isn’t about political debate – it’s about the small detail of not terrorizing communities into submission.

So yes, the pushback will continue to come from those who still think Antifa is “just an idea.” Meanwhile, Americans who watched their businesses go up in flames during the group’s last “idea session” are probably wondering what took so long.

Coming almost two weeks after the assassination of conservative activist and Turning Point USA co- founder Charlie Kirk (where bullet casings etched with Antifa-like phrases were found), the executive order finally acknowledges what everyone else has known for years: Antifa isn’t a band of misunderstood street artists, it’s a violent menace.

The Executive Order sets the stage, but unless Congress and federal agencies actually follow through with real laws and real teeth, the whole thing risks being another round of political theater. For the sake of victims like Andy Ngo – and communities sick of living under Antifa’s anarchy – it’s about time that justice came with handcuffs instead of hashtags.
