Crime? What Crime? Charlotte Murder Exposes Leftist Media Bias

When Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska was stabbed to death [1] on the Lynx Blue Line train in Charlotte, North Carolina, it should have been a straightforward story: a horrific crime, a grieving family, and a suspect with 14 prior arrests. Instead, when the Leftist media finally got around to covering it, the spin machine kicked in – because the accused killer, Decarlos Brown, is Black, and that detail doesn’t fit their preferred narrative.

Nor does it fit their agenda to hide the crime crisis while President Trump is out promising to go into Democrat-run America’s cities and clear out the criminals and illegal alien gangs Democrats would rather leave on the streets.

CNN, Axios, and others immediately rushed to scold conservatives [4] for even discussing the case. Failed CNN media correspondent, Brian Stelter, called MAGA comments of the story “baldly racist,” accusing MAGA of stoking fear [5]. Axios went with its classic “GOP pounces” framing, and a Wikipedia editor dismissively argued the murder wasn’t even “notable.” The message was clear: facts that don’t serve the Left’s agenda should be ignored. And don’t you dare report on any crimes committed by people of color.

But the security footage leaves no doubt. It shows 34-year-old Brown (allegedly) stabbing 23-year-old Zarutska in cold blood. If the races had been reversed, we’d already have primetime specials, op-eds on “toxic masculinity,” and Kamala Harris leading a vigil and a fundraising effort for the victim. Instead, Democrats are furious the murder is being talked about at all.

This isn’t just dishonest – it’s dangerous. Pretending crime doesn’t exist (and ignoring reporting on who did it) and burying it when it’s politically inconvenient, erodes trust and puts Americans at risk. The public sees the video, they know what happened, and they’re done being gaslit.
