Prison Time for Bad Axe Store Owner

Jeremy Majeski, 46, of Filion, was sentenced to at least four years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material. Despite a plea deal suggesting a shorter sentence, the judge went harsher due to the disturbing images involved – some featuring children under five.

Marshella Chidester Awaits Sentencing

Marshella Chidester, 67, was found guilty of killing two children and injuring over a dozen others after driving drunk into a birthday party at a Michigan boat club in 2024.  Chidester was sentenced to 25-50 years in prison on May 15.

MSU Students Help Crack 1997 Cold Case

A decades-old murder case was solved with help from MSU students. The body, found in a Blissfield Township cornfield in 1997, remains unidentified. In 2020, students teamed up with the Michigan State Police and helped build the case. Michael Sepulveda pleaded guilty in 2024; his brother Richardo was convicted in April of 2025. Michael was sentenced to 10 to 30 years’ incarceration on May 15. Richardo’s sentencing is June 13.

Teen Charged as Adult in Grand Rapids Killing

Cartiyae Pascal, now 17, was charged as an adult for the 2024 shooting death of 15- year-old Amillier Penn. He was also charged last fall in a separate shooting.

Andre Broadenax, 29, allegedly forced his 11-year-old daughter to help him rob a 75- year-old man’s Detroit home. After fleeing and ditching both his daughter and a stolen car, he was arrested and hit with a laundry list of charges.
