Jeremy Majeski, 46, of Filion, was sentenced to at least four years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material. Despite a plea deal suggesting a shorter sentence, the judge went harsher due to the disturbing images involved – some featuring children under five.

Marshella Chidester Awaits Sentencing

Marshella Chidester, 67, was found guilty of killing two children and injuring over a dozen others after driving drunk into a birthday party at a Michigan boat club in 2024.  Chidester was sentenced to 25-50 years in prison on May 15.

MSU Students Help Crack 1997 Cold Case

A decades-old murder case was solved with help from MSU students. The body, found in a Blissfield Township cornfield in 1997, remains unidentified. In 2020, students teamed up with the Michigan State Police and helped build the case. Michael Sepulveda pleaded guilty in 2024; his brother Richardo was convicted in April of 2025. Michael was sentenced to 10 to 30 years’ incarceration on May 15. Richardo’s sentencing is June 13.
