The Democrats’ so-called “resistance” movement against President Trump is flailing like a malfunctioning wind-up toy, screeching for street-level chaos while failing to actually keep pace with Donald Trump’s agenda. If they weren’t so dangerous, they’d be downright pathetic.
On Tuesday, Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) tried to rally the troops outside the Department of the Treasury, with Trump-hating Maxine Waters standing next to her. McIver shouted, “Shut down the city! We are at war!”—a totally reasonable and level-headed statement from an elected official, right? This call to arms follows House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ marching orders to “fight in the streets” against Trump’s policies.
So far, their efforts have been pretty fruitless whether it’s because it’s winter – or because Democrats are sick of their constant calls to “fight” losing battles – or whether it’s because DOGE is shutting down the slush fund they’ve been using to “pay” their protesters and agitators to implement Democratic policies and to “fight” Trump.

The problem right now is that the leaderless Democrats can’t decide what exactly they want to fight against and what their message should be because Trump is flooding the zone with policy moves and executive actions faster than they can scribble out their next protest signs. One moment, the left is shrieking about DEI executive orders, the next they’re trying (and failing) to whip up outrage over climate change or transgender bathrooms.
By the time the left catches their breath, Trump is already three steps ahead, setting another political fire they’ve been too slow to extinguish. The only real “street” fight that’s happening right now are the illegal aliens in the streets complaining that criminal sex traffickers, rapists and murderers are being deported – and surprisingly, the Democrats aren’t jumping into the fray on that one.
On Wednesday, the left had hundreds of protesters show up in Lansing (WOW!) to protest Trump, Elon Musk and about 50 other complaints including Project 2025 (which they know nothing about). Elsewhere in the country, the crowds were not large either. Even Washington DC could only draw a few hundred protesters. Try as they might, the left’s call to fight in the streets isn’t catching on at the moment.
And where’s the media’s outrage over Democratic leaders encouraging street-level chaos? Nowhere to be found. However, they ARE making fun of old-man Senate Minority Leader Chuckie Schumer (D- NY) and his “resistance” to Trump.
According to the Daily Mail, CNN actually mocked 74-year-old Schumer and his group of Dems over their protest of Elon Musk. This was the same protest where McIver said they were at war. CNN said the Dems had a piñata “in search of a stick.” They showed a video of the protest where old man Schumer was holding Waters hand and dancing and chanting “We will win! We will win!” The 5- person CNN panel couldn’t hold back their laughter and were quite incredulous that the Democrats sounded so idiotic.
Comedian Jon Stewart has the same take on Schumer and his ineffectiveness – and wants the Dems to stop putting him out as the front man to oppose Trump. He said on Monday on Comedy Central’s Daily Show, clearly frustrated, “Democrats, can you please stop f—ing trotting Schumer out there every time Trump traverses into the unreal?”
The times we’re living in are undeniably entertaining, and Trump’s “shock and awe” strategy is sending the left into a frenzy. While the Democrats are busy shaking their fists at the sky and flailing about like a group of lost tourists without a map, Trump is sprinting ahead, setting the political agenda at warp speed. Their so-called “resistance” is looking more like a sad, off-Broadway production with no clear script and not much of audience.
