The grande dame of leftist propaganda, 78-year-old Andrea Mitchell, is finally hanging up her microphone at MSNBC. After decades of spinning tales for the Democratic Party, Mitchell is stepping aside from her daily show – though we’re sure she’ll still be available for a fawning Biden sit-down if he can remember her name (or his own).
Meanwhile, over at NBC, Chuck Todd’s departure is fueling speculation that some kind of “Resistance” media will be born – as if it’s not already here. After years of pushing narratives that aged about as well as a carton of milk in the sun, Todd’s exit marks yet another domino toppling in the mainstream media’s credibility crisis.
Amidst the downfall of the fake news media, FOX News Channel (FNC) delivered its highest-rated January in cable news history and marked 23 consecutive years as the number one network in cable news, according to data from Nielsen Media Research.
According to a FOX News press release, FNC’s hit late-night, Gutfeld! (10 PM/ET) continued its run as the most-watched late-night program across broadcast and cable sweeping both total viewers and the 25-54 demo. Notching 3.3 million viewers, 446,000 in 25-54, Gutfeld! outranked CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, CBS’ After Midnight and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart across the board.
It looks like folks just don’t want to watch CNN, MSNBC and the other propaganda networks anymore. Not even their comedians. First, it was Chris Wallace bolting from Fox to CNN, only to watch that network collapse into irrelevance. Then Don Lemon was sent packing. And don’t forget Jim Acosta’s tantrum and recent exodus from CNN. And now, Mitchell and Todd are waving their white flags.
Could this be the start of a full-blown leftist media extinction event? One can only hope.
