With Pres. Biden Absent, 4 States Issue “State Of Emergency” Due To Gas Outages

Thanks to the Democratic tactic of doing absolutely nothing, four states have now had to issue “state of emergencies” due to the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack. Like the Southern border and every other aspect of his presidency, President Biden’s slow reaction to the cyberattacks caused gas prices to soar and Americans to panic. The state of emergency will “allow state governments to activate the National Guard as needed, and help streamline cooperation between state and local officials” while restoring some type of normalcy.

Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia all declared a state of emergency, hoping to receive much-needed help that has been abandoned by the Biden Administration. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis even went on Fox News with Sean Hannity and revealed President Biden practically shrugged his shoulders at the cyber attacks.

DeSantis said, “This pipeline actually doesn’t touch Florida, but it does feed into many of our gas stations. So we declared a state of emergency. We’re lifting restrictions to be able to get more fuel in the pumps. The Biden administration needs to take this seriously. Their initial response is, ‘Oh, this is a private pipeline,’ and just shrug their shoulders. This is important infrastructure for our country, and it could impact our economy greatly if they don’t respond.”

Knowing they are most likely to receive little help from the Democrat White House, Republicans are finding unique ways to help ease the pain of high gas prices. On Tuesday, Republican Georgia Governor Brian Kemp decided to temporarily suspend the gas tax. Hopeful, Kemp said, “Today I signed an executive order suspending the gas tax in Georgia to help with higher prices as a result of the Colonial cyber attack. We are working closely with Colonial and expect for them to recover by the end of the week.”

As per usual, with news of gas shortages hitting home, the White House is now claiming they are “scrambling” to help wherever they can. According to the liberal outlet Politico, “The Biden administration is scrambling to ease the gasoline crunch that is causing scattered shortages and fears of price spikes in parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast — one of the most economically and politically worrisome consequences of the cyberattack that shuttered one of the nation’s biggest fuel pipelines.”

But again, it is only after people are starting to complain that the Democrats are willing to lend a hand. And even then, Republicans are still forced to use emergency funds to help struggling families.
