Terrifying Moment Off-Duty Cop Saves Little Boy From A Shark

A terrifying video is going viral this week showing the moment when an off-duty police officer jumped into the Atlantic Ocean to save a young boy on a boogie board after he saw a shark swimming “dangerously close” to him.

Daily Mail [1] reported that Cocoa Beach Police Officer Adrian Kosicki was out on a walk with his wife and their dog on Thursday night when he saw a shark fin pop up near where the boy was boogie boarding.

“Hey buddy! Hey, there’s a shark right there,” one witness could be heard yelling to the boy. “There he is!”

Other beachgoers began shouting to the boy, who quickly started to panic. With just seconds to spare before the shark could reach the child, Kosicki lunged into the water and began dragging the boy to safety.

“We’re certainly not marine biologists, educated and trained to differentiate between the various species of sharks, their respective feeding habits, and aggressiveness near swimmers.” the Cocoa Beach Fire & Police wrote on Facebook. “We just do what we do best—protect the public from harm. Thanks to Adrian, we’ll never know what that shark’s intentions were, and that little boy will forever have a pretty cool story to tell.”

The video has quickly gone viral, with social media users praising the officer for saving this child.

“So proud of our police officer for risking his life to save another,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Wow this is amazing! Nice job Officer Kosicki!”

“Praise God! Thank you for your service and hard work!” a third user commented. “God Bless you.”

This comes after a chilling video went viral that was captured in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, where a shark was spotted swimming near some unsuspecting surfers. It’s only when a kayaker finally sees the shark’s fin that the group realizes that their lives are in danger.

The kayaker immediately screams out to warn his friend, whose legs are just a few feet from the shark. In a desperate attempt to save his friend’s life, the kayaker pushed his vessel forward, distracting the shark long enough for his friend to escape.

The shark finally broke away from the surfers, allowing them all time to safely get back to shore.
