Report: New “Drudge” Tell-All Book Finally Offers an Explanation as to Why the Infamous Aggregator Turned to the “Dark Side”

Matt Drudge is a mystery to most. Who is the man behind the world’s most famous aggregator site? One minute he’s a Trump supporter and the next minute he’s a liberal resister. It’s hard to keep up.

However, a new tell-all book may have some of the answers as to why Drudge is all over the political map.

According to the book “The Drudge Revolution,” written by journalist Matthew Lysiakwritten, Matt Drudge is a bit of an emotional and mental basket case…so much so, he’s had friends and family worried for years with his sometimes erratic and questionable behavior.

The mysterious Drudge has apparently been plagued by a life of emotional ups and downs and shaky and sometimes whacko mental issues.

From Washington Times [2]

• Newly uncovered information about the relationship between Drudge and the Trump campaign, including Team Trump’s nickname for Mr. Drudge from former Trump aide Sam Nunberg.

“Inside the campaign there was a nickname for Matt Drudge — we called him Lady Drudge,” Mr. Nunberg told Mr. Lysiak.

• Newly uncovered details about Mr. Drudge’s deteriorating relationship with former longtime partner Andrew Breitbart, including how the Drudge Report was used by Breitbart for a “pay-to-play scheme” and “quid-pro-quos.”

“Breitbart had other revenue ideas. He entered into a pay-per-click financial arrangement with Reuters that further altered the page,” Mr. Lysiak writes. “The Drudge Report was almost like the mafia and would often be used as a henchman for the conservative side … there were absolute quid-pro-quos.”

• Newly uncovered information about Mr. Drudge’s turbulent early life, including exclusive interviews with friends, teachers, and classmates, along with information gleaned from court documents.

“Physically he’s in good shape, but emotionally he has problems and he’s getting treatment for that,” his mother Claire told a court, Mr. Lysiak writes.

• Exclusive new information about how, after breaking the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky story, friends first began to have concerns about Mr. Drudge’s mental state.

“Matt’s friends began to wonder if something was wrong. They worried that what used to be small glimpses of paranoia were taking a greater hold of Matt’s psyche,” Mr. Lysiak writes. “Matt began to think there were spies everywhere.”

• Newly uncovered insights on how Mr. Drudge turned the power of his website into political currency.

You almost have to wonder if Drudge is “bipolar.” Those crazy highs and lows – one minute being “this way,” and another minute being “that way.”

It’s too bad Drudge has gone to the dark side, but his strange “about-face” has definitely made room for some very good conservative aggregators to play a more prominent role in politics and namely, the 2020 election.

It’s a shame not to have Drudge on our side, but we don’t need him to win. However, it would be nice if he got on some meds (red pills?) and realized that liberalism is the biggest mental disorder on the planet.
