Don’t feel too sorry for Ellen Degeneres.
Yes, her show is tanking, and her home was recently robbed, and her beloved dog died (okay, I do feel sorry about that), but this woman has done a lot of damage to quite a few people with her nasty attitude, rudeness, and the horrific work environment she’s cultivated on her so-called “happy” show.
Ellen has spent a lot of time and energy berating Trump and his supporters, and all the while, she was the one who was putting out negative energy towards people who depend on her and work to make her name and her brand successful. Many employees of Ellen also say she stiffed them during the COVID epidemic when they needed money most of all.
Honestly, the list of negative “Ellen items” goes on and on, so it’s only natural that “karma” has stepped in to send Ellen a message like, “Hey, you better clean up your act, lady…”
Sadly, I don’t think Ellen ever got the karma-memo because things are getting even worse for the embattled talk show host.
Now, we’ve just found out that her show is officially under investigation by Warner Media for the harsh workplace environment.
From Variety [2]
“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” has become the subject of an internal investigation by WarnerMedia following numerous accounts of workplace problems on the long-running daytime series, Variety has learned.
Executives from show producer Telepictures and distributor Warner Bros. Television sent a memo to staffers last week saying they have engaged WBTV-owner WarnerMedia’s employee relations group and a third party firm, who will interview current and former staffers about their experiences on set, said sources.
A Warner Bros. Television spokesperson declined to comment on the matter. A rep for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.
The memo comes on the heels of recent unflattering reports about working conditions at the show. In April, Variety reported on the treatment of legacy crew members during the coronavirus lockdown. In mid-July, BuzzFeed published a report alleging racism and intimidation on the show. The memo came from the desks of Telepictures executive vice president Donna Redier Linsk and WBTV vice president of human resources Donna Hancock Husband.
That show is 100 percent “Ellen.” It’s her name, it’s her personality, it’s her brand, and the buck has to start and stop with her.
She and she alone is responsible for the tone and the energy on that set – and from what everyone who works there or has worked there has said, it’s a real hell-hole filled with bullying, racism, and all sorts of negativity.
That’s Ellen. She’s just another phony liberal hypocrite filled with hate and anger.
And to make matters worse for Ellen, the rumors that her show will be canceled are still swirling around like crazy.
Personally, I don’t see how Ellen’s brand recovers from this unless she humbles herself and really apologizes. We’ll see if she gets desperate enough to do that.
