It was a predictable end to CHOP, with nary a bang but many whimpers, as various human flotsam and jetsam were led away early Wednesday morning in handcuffs by a restored to street power Seattle Police Department.

Over the last two days it must have given the boys and girls in blue a smirk or two to watch the look on the faces of former Chopistas when they realized the police still had the not-so-defunded resources to boot their vegan patchouli-scented carcasses off public property.

So came to an end the illegal insurrection that Seattle Democrats allowed to take over their city streets. After the chinless riff raff who occupied the Bolshevik utopia started to shoot each other, as Bolsheviks will, the mayor then began to contemplate ending the farce.

Police issued the order to disperse around 5 a.m. local time Wednesday, telling the trust fund subversives to leave within eight minutes. When they demurred they were arrested for failure to disperse, obstruction, resisting arrest and assault.

But what really hastened the end of CHOP, and the clearing out action by the revivified police, was the rioters loudly protesting and whatnot at the home of Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan. When that transpired over the weekend Her Ladyship went from calling CHOP “a summer of love” and “a block party” to sounding like the indignant wife of Thurston Howell III in her attitude towards the scruffy dilettantes. She then, as now her particular ox had been gored and the shootings made bad press, ordered CHOP done away with post haste.

In even more amusing news under the Revolution eats its own category: The mayor has fallen out with a fellow socialist Democrat, excuse the redundancy, over actions, to include the mayoral home incident, during the brief and shining “summer of love.”

Mayor Durkan is accusing Council Member Kshama Sawant of herding hundreds of helots into City Hall after hours and without following public health guidelines, of the aforementioned cretins march to the mayor’s home, and of encouraging rioters to occupy the city’s 3rd Police Precinct, an action which set up CHOP.

In an email to City Council President Lorena Gonzalez, the mayor said that Sawant, a self-described socialist, is using her position as a city official “in violation of law” and for “recklessly” undermining other people’s safety in a quest “for political theatre.” Said the mayor, sanctimoniously upset that rioters dared to approach her private property, “All of us have joined hundreds of demonstrations across the city, but Council Member Sawant and her followers chose to do so with reckless disregard of the safety of my family and children.”

Council member Sawant, you may remember, is the idiot who tried to blame the murders that happened in CHOP on capitalism, even though the place was a running eye sore of toddler socialism.

Such is Sawant’s wisdom, such is her maturity. So thus in this case, we find ourselves in temporary agreement with the mayor of Seattle over the fate of the socialist council member. Given the fact that we agree with Jenny Durkan on anything, may God have mercy on our souls.
