I woke up this morning to find that iconic comedian Dave Chappelle had dropped another comedy video.
His last Netflix special was hilarious, but this was different. This was the first comedy special in front of a crowd not sitting in their cars and honking for laughter. This was a social-distancing moment, the first of its kind, and it seems that his main topic was the death of George Floyd.

Chappelle titled his routine 8:46, which was the alleged amount of time former officer Derek Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck, and it was also the time of morning Chappelle was born, 8:46 am.
The comedian also called out controversial conservative Candace Owens, who blasted Floyd on the day of his funeral, claiming that the dead black man wasn’t a hero and reminded America that he had done criminal acts during his life on this earth.
“She’s the most articulate idiot I’ve ever seen in my f***ing life. She’s so articulate she can tell you how f***ing life stupid she is precisely”
WARNING: Strong Graphic Language
Owens’s message, while supported by mostly white conservatives, has hit a bump in the road with the Trump administration who brought in new conservative voices to shift direction just a couple of days ago.

Trump is now meeting w/black supporters, incl Pastor Darrell Scott who told me this week that Candace Owens' criticism of George Floyd is "anti-black" and black conservatives are "overwhelmingly opposed" to her views. Trump retweeted video of her Saturday. https://t.co/bjMAxbzXx5 [3]

?She’s not rooted in the black community, so she misunderstands us often. Example: She claims that blacks don’t idolize their best, referencing Thomas Sowell as an example of a leader we should revere. This rule doesn’t apply to leaders on the LEFT. Obama, mlk are idolized. pic.twitter.com/JFsrD1EjM2 [9]

There’s no doubt that her base will rally behind her in support and hit back at Chappelle, but it won’t do any damage to the comedian who calls out everyone and doesn’t shy away from making sense out of nonsense.
I don’t support Owens’s rhetoric because nobody was making Floyd a martyr or hero. They were calling out an injustice over a victim that lost his life calling out for his mom while the officer had him pinned down. Unfortunately, people use his history to shame his death.
Martin Luther King Jr. didn’t live a perfect life. Should he have been trashed for his affairs and philandering? Malcolm X didn’t have a clean record either but dying at the hands of the police who purposely didn’t give a damn whether the man lived or died, has to mean something to those who support her rhetoric, it has to.
