Fans were surprised to learn this week that “The Sopranos” star James Gandolfini once became so angry with disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein that he threatened to beat him up.
Fox News [1] reported that this was revealed by Gandolfini’s “Sopranos” costar Steve Schirripa on his podcast “Talking Sopranos,” which he cohosts with Michael Imperioli, another one of the HBO show’s stars. On this week’s episode, Schirripa explained that Gandolfini spent his entire career avoiding the talk show circuit because he hated interviews.
When Gandolfini’s 2012 movie Killing Them Softly was distributed by The Weinstein Co., Weinstein himself became frustrated over the fact that the star was avoiding appearing on David Letterman’s show like he wanted him to.
“He said, ‘Harvey Weinstein keeps calling, he wants me to do Letterman and I said no.’ And he got f–king nasty with Jim,” Schirripa recalled. “And Jim said, ‘I will beat the f–k out of Harvey Weinstein! He f–king calls me again, I will beat the f–k out of him! For the money he paid me, I’m not f–king doing it!’ Swear to God. And this is before all the Harvey Weinstein s–t when he was still king s–t.”
Gandolfini tragically passed away in 2013 from a heart attack.
Though Weinstein was one of the most powerful man in Hollywood back in 2012, he has since been taken down by numerous sexual assault allegations that have been made against him. He is currently serving a 23 year prison sentence for rape and sexual assault charges in New York, and it looks as if he will soon be extradited to Los Angeles to face additional charges there.
This comes after Weinstein was humiliated when Page Six [2] reported that his genitalia is deformed due to a life-threatening bacterial infection known as Fournier’s gangrene, which can strike middle-aged men and diabetics, and Weinstein is a 68 year-old diabetic.
The deformed penis was first revealed in court papers by actress Jessica Mann, one of Weinstein’s accusers. She testified that she felt “compassion” for Weinstein after she saw his deformed genitalia, which appeared to have scarring “as if from burns in his nether region.” Mann added that the first thing that she thought when she saw the deformity was that Weinstein might be “intersex.”
