Reptilian visitors on your porch is not a normal occurrence in America, not even in Florida.
A woman in Fort Myers, Susan Geshel, heard pounding on her front door around 6:45 a.m. in the morning on Tuesday while she was getting herself some coffee.
Was it a friend in need?
A delivery?
Someone with car trouble?
No, it was two alligators who were fighting with each other [1]. [1]
One of them had clamped its jaws on the other alligator and had it pinned to a wall.
Marital squabble? Difference of opinion over paper or plastic?
Geshel didn’t ask them – nor did she let them in.
The alligators didn’t have masks on and they weren’t social distancing so being hospitable was not the thing to do in this situation.
They hung out at Geshel’s place for about 20 minutes before they headed out.
Maybe they heard about the stay-at-home order and decided to comply – or they just decided to door dash.
