Cleaning and sanitizing supplies are vanishing from store shelves amid the coronavirus fears, and some retailers are vastly increasing prices of goods.
Greed is why price gouging is happening. They placed wealth over health. It can’t be stopped now because they allowed it to escape containment (because it would have cost too much money to contain it). There is so much more they could do to slow the spread, but they won’t. The reason is, it would cost too much money, and your life isn’t worth it to them.
The irony is that forcing people to drive to multiple stores looking for that one item, will increase the chances of spreading something.
