On Friday, Biden’s accuser Tara Reade told the Associated Press [1], “I remember talking about him wanting me to serve drinks because he liked my legs and thought I was pretty, and it made me uncomfortable. I know that I was too scared to write about the sexual assault.”

It seems that Reade filed a limited report against Biden, which didn’t explicitly accuse him of sexual assault or harassment 27 years ago.
Reade also claimed she remembered “the main word I used—and I know I didn’t use sexual harassment—I used ‘uncomfortable.’ And I remember ‘retaliation.'”
Reade described the report after the AP discovered additional transcripts and notes from its interviews with Reade last year in which she says she “chickened out” after going to the Senate personnel office.
The AP interviewed Reade in 2019 after she accused Biden of uncomfortable and inappropriate touching: “I wasn’t scared of him, that he was going to take me in a room or anything,” she said at the time. “It wasn’t that kind of vibe.”
I am not saying that I don’t believe Reade, but this is a little crazy. If she told people around her about it and her mom called into Larry King to allude to the sexual assault, how can you be afraid when filling out the report?
She did not raise allegations of sexual assault against Biden until this year, around the time he became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Timing is interesting. When Christine Blasey Ford came forward with her allegations, Kavanaugh had just become a prominent national figure after being nominated to the Supreme Court. Biden was nominated for Vice President in 2007 and served for eight years under Barack Obama, and she never came forward. Quite a coincidence that this allegation just comes to light once he becomes the presumptive Democratic nominee.
I’m having issues with her constantly changing story. As someone who has been through this myself, something just doesn’t add up here. Women need to be heard, but men deserve to have a chance to defend against false or exaggerated accusations. I don’t like this latest response from Reade, but then again, I am just a small entity in the political world.
I’m all for giving both sides the chance to speak and investigating things to the fullest extent. But this story is falling apart by the minute.
