Report: California Man Who Wore KKK Mask As Coronavirus Mask Won’t Be Charged

A San Diego County man shocked his fellow supermarket shoppers when he pranced into the store donning a KKK hood as a face covering, protecting himself from coronavirus — a move he later admitted was “stupid.”

I get that they are trying to make a statement by getting the authorities to relax the requirement to wear a mask, but now that it has not only been done but been done better by the man in the clan mask, they just look like they are desperate for attention.

Even though the man was stupid, I am going to have to side with the judge in this case. Whoever thought they would win a lawsuit over this needs to be allowed to leave their home under supervision. In addition to that, the “civil rights” groups that were outraged must not be interested in his civil rights. Everyone, in this great nation, black and white and whatever, has the right to do stupid stuff.

This was stupid.

[Sanluisobispo [2]] Detectives investigated the incident, but after interviewing the man determined there was not enough evidence to charge him with a crime, a sheriff’s press release says.

“The man expressed frustration with the coronavirus and having people tell him what he can and cannot do,” the release says. “He said that wearing the hood was not intended to be a racial statement. In summary he said, ‘It was a mask and it was stupid.’ ”

The release says the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that hateful speech is still protected under freedom of speech.

“That said, this incident should serve as a reminder for anyone contemplating wearing or displaying items so closely associated with hate and human suffering that our society does not hold in high regard those who do so,” the release says.

“Santee is a city of families and the community is rightfully disgusted at this man’s despicable behavior,” the release continues, noting the sheriff’s office will investigate such cases.

The original incident drew widespread condemnation.

Gotta love when someone references the Constitution while wearing the symbol of one of our greatest enemies. I have friends who wanted to protest, and I told them to be careful about who you’re standing next to and being affiliated with. Some really want to protest what the feel is government overreach while others are there to intimidate and express hate. What’s funny is the so-called patriots will be more upset about BLM protesting about a cop shooting than they are about skinheads screaming in cop’s faces and wearing hate symbols.

To clarify, it’s not illegal for them to wear this stuff outside, but inside the store, they must go by store rules. The one store clerk was wrong when he said it was a hate crime, that’s only true in Europe, not here in the USA–he would have free speech protection here. But if the store says they don’t want it, they have the right to throw people out.

They all think it’s funny until their faces get photographed and spread around, so everyone knows who and what you are, not so funny then, is it?

He claimed it was his “First Amendment” right to wear the mask. Wear the mask all you want at your home or on public property. But on privately owned property, they can tell you to take a hike. If you are asked to leave the premises, and you refuse, you can be arrested for trespassing.
