Fans of country music star [1] Morgan Wallen are in shock right now after he was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday night for being drunk and disorderly.
WKRN reported [2] that the 27 year-old singer was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct after an incident that took place at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk. The arrest report states that police officers saw security guards removing Wallen from the establishment at around 11 p.m. that night due to him being disorderly by kicking glass items.
Officers reportedly gave Wallen several chances to walk away with his friends, but he refused to do so. The cops said that Wallen smelled strongly of alcohol, leading them to believe that he posed a danger to the public and to himself. They ended up arresting him for “being intoxicated in public, unable to take care of himself, and the reasonable likelihood the offense would continue” after they saw him getting into multiple verbal altercations with passersby.
Wallen was released from jail on a $500 bond shortly after his arrest, and he broke his silence about what happened the next day on Twitter.
“Hey y’all just wanted to clear the air,” he tweeted. “I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn’t mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected.”
