Jose A. Rodriguez Chucuan, 42, better known to wrestle fans as Alberto Del Rio, was arrested in San Antonio, Texas, after a woman claimed he beat her on several occasions, most recently May 3.
The victim said that Chucuan accused her of being unfaithful and abusing her during an hours-long assault, News 4 San Antonio reports.

She alleges he slapped her multiple times, threatened her son, stuffed a sock in her mouth while tying her hands with boxing straps. The claims didn’t stop there. Allegations also included that he tried to force her to dance for him and used multiple objects to assault her while even beating her and placing his hand around her neck.
He is charged with felony sexual assault but has been released on bond.
Chucuan holds the prominent status of reportedly the first world champion in WWE history to have been born in Mexico.
He continued to wrestle after he left the WWE in 2014. “We all have different stories of how we got here to the United States of America. In my particular case, I had to fight, literally wrestle to get here to this amazing country,” he said on the day he became a naturalized US citizen in 2018.”
Looks like he was speaking literally, eh?
