WATCH: Michigan Nurse Shows How Easily Virus Spreads — Even While Wearing Gloves

A lot of the content we have seen shared from medical professionals has just told us to stay home because there is an invisible enemy out to get us all.

We are all aware that it’s doing quite a bit of damage, but we’re being so careful, right? Wrong.

Saginaw clinician, Molly Lixey took to Facebook for what she called a “Molly rant” to demonstrate the extreme dangers of cross-contamination while wearing gloves by using green paint, and a scenario millions of Americans are now concerned with: grocery shopping.

In the video she shows that gloves do not provide protection if you do not sanitize the belongings you regularly use – for example your phone – and if you do not wash your hands.

Lixey said, “I’m seeing a lot of people out here wearing gloves.” She added,  “That’s great … but I wanted to remind you of this little thing called cross-contamination.”

During the demonstration, Lixey picks up a paper plate, used to reference toilet paper and then puts paint on her gloves to show that she had just picked up whatever germs were attached to that item.

By the end of the demonstration, Lixey was covered in paint and we are rethinking every single move.

Wash your hands folks! [1]
